When I was 17 years old I traded my paintbrush for a camera. It was a Pentax ME super film camera that I purchased from the late Gary Myers at a camera store called Reid Sweet. Like a lot of young Nova Scotians I took my first roll of film at Peggy’s Cove. Last week I headed there for an engagement session and was reminded again of it’s beauty of light. One of the challenges of an artist it to block out the millions of images of a popular area and make it your own. Chasing the light rather than the scene or location really is the way to go as a photographer. When you have a great couple in tow it makes the whole evening seem very rewarding.
